Roosters,more roosters....& a few other goodies!

Happy Friday everyone! I am feeling a little better than I was the first of the week and I even have some pics to show you. I managed to consume enough chocolate to keep me going thru the week and I made a trip to my moms and spent a couple days working in the area where she was so I could justify flying the coop at home! It was nice to see her and of course we hit a couple prim shops and she also sent me home with some goodies she had collected for me! I bought these little pillow tucks all in a little bag for $4!! I couldnt resist at that price and they found a home for now. I may move them yet. That little can sits in my diningroom at the moment.

And you all know how I am with the crows and roosters. Well this little guy NEEDED to come home with me!! He has the cutest expression on his face. and cheesecloth around his neck. LOVE him!
Here he is again with my newest prim roosters rocky and henny! I havent quite decided where their home will be yet but I couldnt resist any of them.
Rocky and Henny again...on my kitchen table in front of my old wooden dough bowl. I will leave them here for now. I may display them in the bowl which is now full of my collection of old and new cookies cutters. Not that I make alot of cookies....just love the old cutters!
Mom also sent me home with all these rooster ornaments. They are just cheap little ones but she thought they might look cute in my diningroom windows. I will decide if I want to keep them or maybe someone else will have a use for them.

Lastly I have a new project to take on. I had been looking for a cabinet for on my bathroom wall. A family friend gave this one to mom. He was going to throw it out! So now I have to decide what to do with it. The bathroom I am redoing I have done the cupboards in black....do I leave this one antique white? Or do it black too?Another color? Suggestions please!! This is the inside....
And with the door closed...

Its just the perfect size for a medicine type cabinet in a small bathroom. I am excited to get it finished...and free is such a good price. I hope you all have a great friday and that the weekend brings you lots of relaxing time!

  1. I'm so glad your feeling better Holli:) That cabinet is AWESOME, I can't imagine anyone wanting to throw it away! I would say maybe leave it another color so it stands out more? or you can do a black base coat then go over with antique white & sand the edges maybe?? Love your goodies from your mom too:)

  2. Ask Mom where my goodies are! lol You two always seem to find the goodies. I like the cabinet and think it has to be black to go with everything else. If you left it white, it would be out of place.

  6. I'm so glad you're feeling better! I so wish we had a prim store close to me. I'm sure I would spend tons of time there. You got such a great deal on the goodies you found. I've started decorating my kitchen in roosters. Last year I found a calender full of roosters. I'm going to put burlap behind them and frame them as soon as I have time to get to them. They are wonderful pictures. I bought them at calendars.com. I have this wonderful space above my cabinets perfect for 8X10 frames. I'm going to hang old kitchen tools in between them. I haven't looked at this years calendars on the site, but you might check it out. It is a small calendar that was about $7.99.

I'll 'type' at you later, Melissa

  7. You are all so sweet! Thanks for the suggestions! The rest of the bathroom is green...you can see it in a post a month or so ago...probably labelled bathroom redo...lol! I kinda want to do it black but Im afraid it will be too much black so maybe the black with antique while dry brushed over will work! I can always paint over it if I dont like it!

  8. Love all of your new goodies especially your roosters! The cabinet will look great no matter what you decide. I'm not sure what other colors you have in your bathroom but what about painting it mustard over black & sanding really good & wiping some stain it.
    Have a great weekend!

  9. Hi Holli, Glad you are feeling better, chest pains are scary and you did the right thing going to the ER.
Love all the goodies, and the cabinet is beautiful. I suggest you leave it as is, but sand down alittle on the edges and distress it, then take a darker like mahogany or something to stain over the entire piece to age it, using a ragging technique. I guarantee it would look great with your other decor in the bathroom.
    Have a great weekend.
    Prim Blessings
