Seeds for Song

Today was a nice Sunny day but soooo cold! So hubby and I decided we needed a day away from his mother(who lives with us) and a little relaxing! We piled the two dogs in the car and took off early this morning. We ended up 2 hours away at my moms! She hadnt met Chance ,our newest addition, and well I wanted to see her. When we left there we visited on of my favorite shops in the area and I came home with a new bird feeder. I know you cant see the sign but it says *Seeds for Song*. Chance is checking it out after we brought it home and found a place for it. It is made from an old balister and she only changed me $10!
Then we went to a store called Bargain Harleys which is like the biggest junk store ever. You never know what you will find. Anything from toys to glass to tools or well just anything! The pic below is my Harley helping me show you what I got there. The first is a tin bird house I just loved and of course had to bring home.
Then Harley wearing the pip berry wreath I paid $1 for! I wish I could have found more of those for only $1.
A better look at the birdhouse. I sat it on my mantle for now until we decide where to put it outside. I think it will be more decorative than anything unless I mabe remove the berries. The birds might go in then??
Last but not least I found this little rusty tin watering can for $2.88. The little angel says Garden time. I thought it would be cute sitting outside. Unless I find a place for it inside first!

I hope you are all having a great weekend. We got a few little projects done around the house when we got home. I will share them with you soon. Have a great day!

Spring in my yard!

The days are slightly warmer and the sun is so nice and look what I found!! Yes some crocus peeking thru the old leaves. I had left the leaves over the flower bed to protect them a little but was so excited to see the flowers there this past week!
I also have my yellow lilies starting to come up. I know its hard to tell and probably everyone elses are way yup...but I am way north of most of you! I lovvve spring!!
This past Christmas my hubby gave me these house numbers. He found them in the little prim shop I visit quite often. They are in a frame and you can slide whatever tiles in there that you want. Today I was in to visit them and found this cute bunny one for Easter. He bought me a heart one for Valentines and some winter ones when he gave them to me at Christmas. I thought it was a really cute idea.
I was back to work today and it was such a long day after only getting home from the hockey tournament yesterday. I was glad to get home tonight and sit down to read and post! Now I am off to do a mountain of laundry!

Home away from home

Well....I feel like this hotel is my home away from home. Last night I had a terrible sleep and those boys best be on good behavior today or this hockey mom might be cranky!! Okkkk not really Im rarely cranky...and I did see a huge sign for a discount fabric store on the way here and a number of antique stores as well. I will be checking those out later. We are off to game number 2 this morning....they lost last night so hopefully this one will be better! Hope you are all having a great weekend. My hubby is home working on the yard while we are here! Talk to you soon.

On the road again....

I feel like I have been in a hotel every week lately. My job takes me away from home occassionally and of course since the roads are good and there is no snow I took advantage. So I really have no pics to share today...I just wanted to say Hi since I was sitting here reading about what you have all been up to! I am here in Moncton New Brunswick over night. Back home tomorrow for one night and then we are off to Prince Edward Island to watch my son play hockey in a tournament. I will actually go a day early and do some work there as well. This will be Aidan's last minor hockey tournament. It is the end of the season and his final year as he is now too old and will be gone to university in the fall. It will be different not sitting in the rink every weekend freezing all winter long!! And I will miss alot of the people we have met over the years. Hard to believe he has played since he was 4 ....so 14 years I have done this. Im a dedicated hockey mom! This wasnt his first year but it is a few years ago....check out the name of the team...LOL!!

And here he is....all grown up! Number 12...the number his best *girl* friend wore on her basketball jersey before she was taken away from us so young. RIP Mandy we all miss your sweet smile. Aidan chose to change his number this year and wear hers as a memory. I thought it was a sweet thing to do to honor her.

Ok I guess thats enough rambling. i will try to post again sometime this week...if I find time or anything interesting to tell you. Have a great day!

TA- DAAAA!!!

I am as done as I am going to get with this bathroom for now!! This is what it looked like before I painted the cupboard and wallpapered. (counter top and sink to be done soon)
And these are the painted cupboards...black with rusty stars. And new hardware as well. They are more sanded than they look there.
And here is a pic of the old mirror and walls....one wall papered in a blue and pink flower and the other in green tile board. What were people thinking when they do these things??? You can also see that the old back stairs come down here. For the time being my husband is going to make an old style slatted door to cover them. Eventually we will change the layout of the bathroom and open up the stairs....but thats a whole other project and a few years off!
And after with the green wall paper and black framed mirror I painted awhile back! The new black BATH towel hanger I have had forever waiting to hang up.
I cannot believe this is the same bathroom! Yesterdays post has the new tub surround in it and I have still a few things to finish up to go in there.

Hope you have all had a great weekend. back to work tomorrow for me!

Update on the Bathroom Reno!

Remember the ugly flower tub wall?? Well This is what we found when we pulled it off.....scarey!! A hole with no insulation or anything explains the cold drafts in that bathroom.
Then we tore off the old barkerboard to find the vapor barrier didn't even go all the way down! Not to mention the mold, etc!
Here it is with the hole fixed and new vapor barrier and sheetrock. We didnt use the cement backer board that should be used in a bathroom because this whole room will be gutted in a few years and the tub will be replaced with a stand up shower stall as we have an old claw foot tub in the other bathroom. This project was a make-do to keep me happy for the time being! I HATED that bathroom!
Here we are with the wall paper over the old green tileboard....starting to look better!
And finally....my shiney new white tub surround! I know the middle panel looks a different color but it really isnt. Very poor lighting in there and trust me it is all a bright CLEAN white and I am so happy with it!We got rid of all the mold and let it dry out good before we put it back together. I hope to add the pics of the cabinets and the rest of the bathroom tomorrow. It is nearing completion and I am glad to have it done!! Just a few finishing touches. I have to paint the little cabinet my mom got for me yet and get it hung up and also we are going to try that roll on granite product on the counter top before we install the new sink.

Hope you are all having a great weekend.

Look what followed me home!!

Ok maybe they didnt really follow me....I might have just found them in a cute little prim shop and bought them to bring home!! This is actually alot bigger than it looks. I havent decided where its home will be but I hung it up to take a pic for you. Besides maybe my husband will believe they just followed me!

I was away the first part of this week for work and since I got home we have continued to work on the bathroom. Its down to the finishing touches so I hope to have pics for you sometime this weekend.

The weather here has been nice and starting to warm up. I even saw some of my crocus starting to peek thru! I cant wait for spring to get here. Im tired of the dreary weather.

Hope you have all had a great week! Talk to you again soon.

A new Baby!!

Well.... a baby to me! I have fur babies now since my son is 18! This is Chance and he has come to live with us. A friend called me the other day asking if I knew anyone who could take him. She has twin babies and two other kids and a husband who works away a month at a time. And poor Chance just needed more attention that she had left to give! So we brought him to visit Pearse for the weekend to see how things went. I was a little nervous with them both being males. Well as I type this they are already up and playing like crazy! They have done great all weekend so we will be adopting Chance and now have two golden retrievers!
This of course is my boy Pearse sitting on the back step waiting to go for a walk. He is so beautiful and I am so glad he likes Chnce. Pearse is 6 years old and Chance is just a year so he is very active which will be good for Pearse.
And here they are going for a walk....or taking my hubby for a walk! I did go with and take one of them. They actually walked quite well together. So thats what I have done this weekend. Oh...well...and tackle that bathroom again! We are ALMOST ready to take the final pics to show you. The new tub wall goes up today and then I can put back all the shelves and things I had to take down. Have a great day! No walk for me today....Im off to work at the gift shop.

Snow Day?? And Good Mail!

Well all week they have been telling us there is a storm headed our way. So I was supposed to got out of town for work today and cancelled that trip because I didnt want to drive on bad roads..... this morning we listen to the radio...schools are cancelled so as it gets light outside I look out and...NOTHING! No snow,no nothing! Im not sure why they cancelled everything but its now 10:30 here and still no sign of anything. Of course my son wasnt upset at all to stay home from school.

So now I get to fill my day with house cleaning! Id like to do a little crafting but my house is a mess. So the fire is started and here I sit procrastinating and reading all about what all of you are doing! That should be inspiring me to get off my butt! I did read that Donna from One Simple Country girl got her giveaway goodies I mailed...finally! Got to love the postal system! Hope you all have a great day. We are tearing the shower apart tonight so hopefully I will have finished pics of my bathroom soon!

Oops almost forgot....I wanted to mention the button I have on my sidebar. Prim Pals is a site Debbie from Goat Creek is trying to get started.....check it out! We all need a little good mail instead of the normal bills and junk!
