My Name is Earl....

And I am a hurricane! Yup we are about 12-14 hours away from being hit my Huricane Earl. It is expected to make landfall in Nova Scotia early tomorrow morning. Hopefully he will be a tropical storm by then but we will still get the effects. Sooooo....hubby is out moving things and hoping the new fence holds up!

On top of all that this is the weekend I lose my son to University. Its bittersweet really....he is soooo excited so I cant help but be excited for him. On the other hand I am sad. My only child is moving out and Im truly not dealing very well with that at all. He will be about 45 minutes away but it just wont be the same.

Not exactly the long weekend I was hoping to have! I hope you all have a good weekend and those in line with Earl stay safe!!

  2. (((HUGS))) I know what your going.. I WAS a empty nester but they keep coming back...The time they were all gone it was so very hard. He is only 45 minutes away and you know you can go have lunch with him..Take him a goodie box and they gladly accept it even when it is hand delivered. Any he will miss you as much as you miss him..My daughter was an hour and 15 minutes away..well she still is she is a senior in college..My son use to be a hour and 45 minutes away..My daughter wanted to come home every weekend...excuse was she didn't want to wash her clothes in the washers because of germs.. She also came home for the peace and quiet because dorm life is very noisy..Time will go slow..I couldn't wait till the holidays because of the song I will be home for christmas and I couldn't wait till everyone came home...It was exciting looking forward to that.. He is soaring now and you have accomplished your goal for him to soar and someone told me when I was so down that I was a retired parent now and could soar to...So remember that it is time for you to soar...Lisa

  3. I hope Earl is down-graded...and stays away from your home.
I know how you feel about being an empty nester...it was very hard for me when my oldest moved out of home. Was a little easier with the youngest until I realized that no kids would be home on Christmas morning that year. But we are not empty nesters anymore as our youngest needed to move back home for awhile. Hmmmm...where did my quiet house go to? LOL...

  4. Hey girl! I got my package and love, love, love everything. The "diva" item made me bust out laughing which I so badly needed yesterday!Thank you so much for all your hard work and for all the wonderful goodies. You spoiled me rotten!! I am going to blog about it today. You are such a special friend and I am so thankful that I've gotten to know you and have you in my life. I'm sorry you are having a hard time with your son's leaving. It sucks being a parent sometimes. Big hugs to you.
    Love ya bunches,
    Donna

  5. I hope Earl will at least give you a break so you can get Aidan moved with no problem. Everything will be okay sis. He is only 45 minutes away so you can still spend time with him and I bet he will learn to appreciate his mom even that much more.

    *hugs*

  9. I hope that Earl will pass you by like he did North Carolina! I will keep you in my prayers. I know that it's hard saying good-bye, I am down to two at home, with my son leaving in November. Believe me your son will be coming home all the time for home cooking and laundry services lol. Have a wonderful weekend!
